Artists

Aoife Claffey is an installation artist based in Cork whose work combines photography, video, sound, and found sculpture. Her use of light and framing speaks to our fascination with screens while expanding beyond the planar surface. Aoife has a BA in Fine Art (2019) and an MA in Art and Process (2021) from the Crawford College of Art and Design. She is a member of Sample Studios, Cork Printmakers, and the collective Inter_site. Aoife is a recipient of several awards including the Arts Council Agility Award and the Cork County Council Touring Bursary. She most recently exhibited at PADA Studios and Gallery (Lisbon) and The Crypt, St. Luke’s (Cork).

Cailean Finn is a media artist and creative technologist from Waterford. His practice investigates computational processes embedded within socio-technological systems. He has a BSc. in Computer Science (2019), and an MA in Art and Technology (2022) from the University of Limerick. Cailean is a member of Concept NULL, an Irish organisation dedicated to new media art. In 2023 he was technologist for Dwelling, a theatre installation created by Peter Power and Leon Butler for the Beta Festival, Project Arts Center, Dublin. In 2022 he was on the team who developed Undefined Panorama, a project by Yang Ah Ham for Exceptional Times, Uncertain Moves, Seo-Seoul Museum of Art, Korea.

Manuel McCarthy Valderrama is an Irish-Spanish multidisciplinary artist. His work delves into the utopian World of Objects to explore agency and use outside utilitarian systems. He holds a BA in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (2021) and a MA in Art and Technology from the University of Limerick (2022). His work has been showcased nationally at the National Gallery of Ireland, the Goethe Institut Irland, Pallas Projects/Studios, Trinity College, and the National Botanic Gardens. He has taken part in international exhibitions in Germany (Silent Green, Transmediale Studio) and Spain (Complutense University of Madrid, La Juan Gallery).
